Pretty soon the 28th Wacken Open Air
will start! The anticipation grows bigger and bigger. There are still some news
– about records, post offices, lifesavers and the perfect sound.
Wacken, July 28th, 2017 – More than 75.000 metal heads from all over the
world are coming to the Holy Wacken Land next week again! But the Wacken family
is much bigger than the amount of tickets: “Our facebook page just reached one
million fans – and our YouTube and Instagram have over 100.000 followers each
now. We’re very happy about that! It motivates us even more to organize the
best metal party in the world at the 28th and sold out Wacken Open Air”, says
Holger Hübner, one of the founders of the festival.
For
the perfect sound of this party there now is a third line of speakers in the
front area of the twin stages “Faster“ and “Harder“. As a result far way
standing fans can still enjoy the music properly. The third stage, called “Louder“,
also got more delay speakers for more sound power.
Next
to the building of the stages there is a lot construction going on the festival
ground. More than 40 kilometers site fence are placed, 250 tents and 300
containers are arranged. One of the containers will be a post office – for the
first time in festival history. Wacken postcards are sold there, as well
limited stamps with special Wacken motives like metal horns on it. Even the
postmarks will have the famous Wacken logo on it.
An
info point of the German bone marrow donation organization “DKMS“ is also built
at the “Wacken Foundation” camp. Metal heads can register as potential bone
marrow donor against blood cancer. “It’s the fourth time that the “DKMS” is our
guest. All in all 5000 metal heads were registered at the Wacken Open Air – 21
of them even became lifesavers. We’re very proud of these numbers and thank
every single metalhead for this amazing support”, says Holger Hübner about the
successful cooperation.
The
sold out festival takes place from August 3rd to 5th. On more than eight stages
around 150 artists will perform for example Alice Cooper, Volbeat, Accept, Marilyn
Manson, Kreator, Amon Amarth, Status Quo or Avantasia.
